Hello! I’m Tamara Paskey-Alexander, the owner of Paskey Boudoir and your boudoir photographer.
“Boudoir Photographer” isn’t just my job title, it’s who I am. My world revolves around my business and I consider myself so lucky to have found my niche. As a boudoir photographer, I get to help women see themselves in a whole new light, celebrate their femininity, and make a few husbands extremely happy along the way.
Why boudoir photography?
As you can see from my photos, I’m far from a size 2. I’ve always been uncomfortable in my own skin, I never felt like I fit in. I’ve always felt awkward in large groups, and still get social anxiety in a lot of situations. When I first became a boudoir photographer in 2010, it was just for fun; I just thought it was a good hobby. But as time went on, I realized that all these beautiful, amazing women had insecurities just like me. The women I photographed that had “perfect” bodies worried about their looks just as much as me. I realized I had the power to make women see themselves the way everyone else sees them through my lens.
My favorite quote pretty much speaks for my entire career as a boudoir photographer:
“Butterflies can’t see their wings. They can’t see how beautiful they are, but everyone else can. People are like that.”
Doing my own boudoir shoot made me realize this about myself, too. I’m beautiful, I’m sensual, and I’m provocative – and my husband definitely thinks so, too! Helping women see this in themselves helps me in the process. Boudoir photography has evolved to become such a healing, empowering thing in my life.
Since I decided to specialize solely in boudoir photography, I’ve been able to focus on ways to capture women the way they are right now. Not when you lose a few pounds, change this or that – right now. Whether they are 25 years old or 65 years of age, all my clients have been through something, or are going through something, and I believe all women are deserving of photos to feel like the best, most beautiful version of themselves.
I’m (in a roundabout way) from Lexington, KY, which is where I opened my first boudoir studio in 2010. When I married my husband Jon, we packed up and moved everything to Kansas City, where he was stationed in the Army for 4 years. When his contract ended in 2015, we had the opportunity to move anywhere in the country, and after a lot of consideration I decided Dallas would be the best for my business! Dallas has been amazing for both Paskey Boudoir and our marriage. We love it here, and this is definitely our permanent home. Thank you, Texas, for being so welcoming!
A bit about me.
I'm an animal lover.
My husband and I have a Bloodhound/ Mastiff mix and a German Shepherd, both over 100lbs. We consider them our children. Our family calls them the “grand-dogs”.
I'm fascinated by pinup culture.
If I could figure out how to style my hair in victory rolls I’d wear them every day, and drive around in a ’57 Chevy.
I always swore I'd never get married.
Then I met my husband. 🙂 He turned me into a hopeless romantic.
I love to travel.
I’ve lived in Illinois, Louisiana, Kentucky, and Kansas, and now are permanently in Texas! The top places I’d like to travel to are Scotland, Greece and Patagonia.
Some of my best friends are ones I've met through boudoir photography.
I love that my clients know they can text me ridiculous pictures at 10pm.
I think I could survive on iced coffee and raspberries.
I'll most likely stub my toe, trip over something, or forget where I left my camera at some point during our shoot.
